As we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year, Weatherly is committed to supporting 30 events, with the Del Mar Village Association’s Summer Solstice being a highlight! Our crew volunteered to help usher patrons into the event and guide them to the various local vendors in attendance. We had a wonderful time connecting with many people, enjoying the festivities, and engaging with our vibrant community.

On a lovely March Day, the Weatherly Crew decided to make the most of the San Diego weather and once again teamed up with the Del Mar Village Association and participated in the Keep Del Mar Green Community Cleanup. In an effort to prevent the contamination of our precious waterways, we spread out across the downtown and beach regions to collect trash while also strengthening our team bond. If you want to know more about upcoming cleanups, visit the DMVA website.

Team Weatherly is deeply committed to showing its support for the breast cancer community. Each November we feel incredibly honored to have the opportunity to encourage and support the numerous walkers who participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk, as they pass by our Del Mar office. To learn more about the Susan G. Komen organization, and it’s San Diego affiliate, Komen San Diego, please visit the Susan G. Komen website.

To close out the summer of 2018, the Weatherly team put in work to clean up our local beaches! Our crew of beach lovers are passionate about keeping our oceans and waterways free of trash, so we decided to host a beach cleanup in Del Mar, through Ocean Conservancy using the Clean Swell app. The Ocean Conservancy created the Clean Swell app in 2016 to make keeping our oceans clean fun and easy. This quarter, our team made our annual visit to Feeding America, San Diego headquarters. For our day of volunteering, we helped the distribution center sort over 6,000lbs of tomatoes and prepped them to be delivered to various food distribution locations within the San Diego County. Amid environmental crises, and the daily struggles families face with hunger, our team was reminded of the huge impact this organization has on the community.

It’s that time of year again! The Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk came to San Diego this past weekend and the Weatherly Crew got the chance to cheer on the walkers as they started their 60-mile trek in Del Mar. The team got all dressed up in pink and handed out water to the walkers to show our support for the cause! Please visit the Susan G. Komen San Diego website at http://komensandiego.org to learn more!

This quarter, our crew of animal lovers spent an afternoon volunteering at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Helen Woodward Animal Center is located in Rancho Santa Fe and has been in the business of saving animals in San Diego county and beyond for over 45 years! The Weatherly team was able to help with a few paint jobs around the property and take some time to play with some of their adorable animals. If you would like to learn more about this organization or view their adoptable pets please visit: https://animalcenter.org/

Each year, The Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk comes to San Diego and Weatherly Asset Management gets a front row seat! This November, we set up a refreshment stand and decked ourselves out in pink gear to show support and encouragement for the walkers who set out to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. To learn more about the walk, and how you can get involved with this cause, please visit the Susan G. Komen San Diego website at http://komensandiego.org

As hunger is a global concern, we see its heavy effect within our community and the greater San Diego area. November 2015, Weatherly partnered with Feeding America to help get our team involved. The organization not only provides many avenues of support, but also is a great resource and educator on how to fight hunger, reduce food waste, and help families in need. See our behind the scenes experience at Feeding America below, or visit our Facebook page
here, and let us know if you’d like to get involved!
